Cookonomics helps food businesses work out the true cost and margin of every dish. This policy explains, in plain language, what data the Cookonomics app and website collect, why, and the control you have over it.

1. Who we are

Cookonomics ("we", "us") is the developer of the Cookonomics mobile app and the website at cookonomics.com. For any privacy question, contact us at dimitristsipoutas@gmail.com.

2. Data stored on your device

Everything you create in the app — your ingredients, purchase prices, price history, recipes, products, selling prices and margins — is stored locally on your device. If you never create an account, this information stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.

3. Optional account, backup & sync

If you choose to create an account so you can back up your data and use it across devices, we collect and process:

• Your email address and password — used only to create and secure your account and to sign you in.
• Your app content (ingredients, recipes and prices described above) — stored in your private, access-controlled account so it can be restored and synced to your other devices.

Account data is hosted for us by Supabase, our infrastructure provider, on servers located in the European Union. Your data is protected by row-level security so that only your account can read or write it. Creating an account is entirely optional — the app is fully functional without one.

4. Website waitlist

If you enter your email address on our website to be notified about the launch, we store that email address (and nothing else) solely to send you a launch notification. You can ask us to remove it at any time.

5. What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.
• We do not use advertising or advertising identifiers.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not run third-party analytics or behavioural profiling in the app.

6. How we use your data

We use the limited data above only to: provide the app's core features, authenticate you, back up and sync your content when you opt in, respond to your support requests, and — for the waitlist — tell you when the app launches. We do not use your data for any automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

7. How long we keep it

On-device data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Account data is kept for as long as your account exists; when you delete your account, the associated data is deleted. Waitlist emails are kept until launch or until you ask us to remove yours, whichever comes first.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/EEA GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights — including deleting your account or removing your waitlist email — email us at dimitristsipoutas@gmail.com and we will action it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Cookonomics is a business tool intended for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and account-level access controls. No method of storage or transmission is ever completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
